PHILADELPHIA – Playing its first home game under first-year head coach Scott Tupper, the University of Pennsylvania field hockey team defeated neighborhood rival Drexel 4-2 Sunday afternoon at Ellen Vagelos Field.
Penn recorded its third win of the season, now sitting at 3-3, while Drexel fell to 3-4.

*Honor Roberts scored her third goal of the season, while also recording an assist in the game.
*Ruby de Frees recorded four saves, upping her total to 33 on the season.
*Penn is now 5-0 against Drexel at Ellen Vagelos Field.
How it Happened
The Quakers struck first as senior Roberts scored her third goal of the season, four minutes into the game.
Drexel responded promptly, tying the game at one a piece with a minute left in the opening quarter.
Emma Nahon added to the Quakers' lead with her second goal of the year to start the second quarter.
Both teams were tied 2-2 in shots at the end of half as Penn entered the locker room with a one goal advantage.
No goals were scored in the third quarter as both defenses locked each other down.
Darcey Chapman gave the Quakers a two-point cushion scoring her first goal of the season in the fourth quarter as Penn led 3-1 with 11 minutes left.
Julia Ryan scored a short time after as the Quakers began to pull away.
The Dragons responded as Val Van Hellemont scored to cut the Quakers' lead to two goals with a little over six minutes left.
Penn's defense behind goalkeeper de Frees did not allow any more goals over the course of the final five minutes as the Quakers came away with the victory.
