Women’s Tennis Kicks off 2025-26 With Successful Performance at Tribe Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team opened its season this weekend in the Tribe Invitational at William and Mary.  
 
The two-day event kicked off Saturday morning and lasted until Sunday afternoon. 
 
The Quakers competed against William and Mary, Richmond, James Madison, the University of South Florida (USF) and Eastern Carolina over the course of the weekend. 
 
Lara Stojanovski and Sasha Motlagh won the title in their doubles flight, going 3-0 in the tournament. 
 
Freshmen Joleen Saw and Varsha Vedula both recorded their first collegiate singles and doubles wins. Saw went 2-1 in her singles and doubles matches while the pairing of Vedula and Sarah Wang went 2-1 in doubles. 
 
Stojanovski was also selected for the All-American prequalifying Singles draw. 
 
Penn returns to action next weekend in the University of Delaware (UD) Invite which will run from Friday to Sunday.
