How it Happened
Maryland's offense wasted no time, scoring its first goal only one minute and 24 seconds into the game.
However, Penn's Honor Roberts quickly answered with her second goal of the season, knotting the game at 1-1.
Both teams buckled down defensively with no goals scored in the second quarter.
Despite a low scoring first half, both teams combined for a total of 19 shots as the goalkeepers kept both teams from gaining an advantage.
Maryland's Maci Bradford scored her second goal of the game in the waning minutes of the third quarter as the Terps retook the lead, 2-1.
Bradford's goal was followed by another Terrapins goal as Maddie Vasilios converted on a shot, entering the fourth quarter up by two.
Much like the second quarter, the fourth quarter resulted in a stalemate as Maryland's defense proved to be the deciding factor.
The Quakers look to get back on track in the second game of the two-game weekend on Sunday against American, beginning at 3 p.m.
