PHILADELPHIA – Ray Priore, the University of Pennsylvania's George A. Munger Head Coach of Football, made a final move to complete his coaching staff ahead of the 2025 season.

Zach Cunanan has been hired to be Penn's new director of Player Personnel and Development.

"We're pleased to have Zach join the Penn Football family," said Priore. "His experience at his previous stops has given him a strong foundation to support our player personnel and development efforts. He'll be a valuable addition to our staff and a great resource for our student-athletes."

Cunanan comes to University City from Norfolk, Virginia, where he last served as Player Personnel & Recruiting Assistant at Old Dominion University.

At ODU, Cunanan played a key role in recruiting operations, helping to coordinate official visits, manage recruiting databases, and assist with talent evaluation across high school and transfer portal prospects. His efforts contributed to a 29-man signing class and a notable rise in the program's average recruit ranking.

Prior to his tenure with the Monarchs, Cunanan served as a Player Personnel Assistant at the University of South Carolina, where he helped the Gamecocks secure a top-20 high school recruiting class and a top-15 transfer portal class. He was involved in scouting, film cutups, visit planning, and the creation of transfer portal data models to aid in talent identification.

Cunanan also worked within South Carolina's athletics department as a Graduate Assistant in NIL operations, assisting with education, licensing deals, and external engagement on behalf of student-athletes.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Cunanan earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina, graduating magna cum laude.
