Richardson, Olivieri Earn Spots on Phil Steele’s FCS Preseason All-America List

PHILADELPHIA – The next set of Preseason All-America honors were revealed as Phil Steele announced its selections ahead of the 2025 FCS college football season. Two members of the University of Pennsylvania football team were featured on the list.

Senior wide receiver Jared Richardson and senior offensive lineman Netinho Olivieri were both tabbed to the third team.

This is Olivieri's third All-America honor of the preseason, previously featured by Stats Perform and FCS Football Central. Richardson was named a third-team Preseason All-America by the latter last week.

Richardson earned second-team All-Ivy honors in 2024 after leading the Quakers with 46 receptions for 684 yards and seven touchdowns, while starting all 10 games. His signature performance came at Cornell on Nov. 9, where he recorded nine grabs for 141 yards and three scores, becoming the first player in program history to have two career games of three TDs. This came after he broke through in 2023 as the starring receiver where he earned first-team All-Ivy laurels and etched his name onto national radars.

Richardson enters his final year at Penn with 113 catches for 1,472 yards and 15 touchdowns. He's just 528 yards from becoming just the sixth player in program history to reach the 2,000-yard mark. Richardson is also ranked sixth all-time in touchdown receptions.

Olivieri enjoyed a strong junior season in 2024, making a start in all 10 games at left tackle blocking the quarterback's blind side. Spearheaded by Olivieri's solid play, the offensive line allowed just 15 sacks all season, the ninth-fewest number in NCAA FCS football. For his outstanding contribution on the field, Olivieri earned first-team All-Ivy honors.

He has appeared in 22 career games in the Red and Blue, making 18 starts in the last two campaigns.

Penn begins its historic 2025 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Stonehill, taking on the Skyhawks at 1 p.m.
