PHILADELPHIA – Three members of the University of Pennsylvania football team were represented when FCS Football Central powered by Sports Illustrated announced its Preseason All-America list on Thursday morning.
Senior wide receiver
Jared Richardson and senior offensive linemen
Netinho Olivieri and
William Bergin were all tabbed to the third team with the start of the 2025 season is just under two months away.
Richardson earned second-team All-Ivy honors in 2024 after leading the Quakers with 46 receptions for 684 yards and seven touchdowns, while starting all 10 games. His signature performance came at Cornell on Nov. 9, where he recorded nine grabs for 141 yards and three scores, becoming the first player in program history to have two career games of three TDs. This came after he broke through in 2023 as the starring receiver where he earned first-team All-Ivy laurels and etched his name onto national radars.
Richardson enters his final year at Penn with 113 catches for 1,472 yards and 15 touchdowns. He's just 528 yards from becoming just the sixth player in program history to reach the 2,000-yard mark. Richardson is also ranked sixth all-time in touchdown receptions.
Already named a third-team Preseason All-America by Stats Perform last week, Olivieri enters his senior campaign following a strong season at left tackle in 2024. He picked up first-team All-Ivy honors, while Bergin was named second-team All-Ivy after both blocked for Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year
Malachi Hosley in the backfield.
Penn opens its 2025 season on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Stonehill. The Quakers' first home game at Franklin Field is set for Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. against Dartmouth.
