PHILADELPHIA – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2024-25 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Monday, July 21. The University of Pennsylvania women's and men's tennis programs were honored as ITA All-Academic teams, while 18 Quakers—nine women, nine men—were recognized with ITA Scholar-Athletes Award honors.
The women's team was represented by
Sasha Motlagh,
Saige Roshkoff,
Gavriella Smith,
Lara Stojanovski,
Liza Tkachenko,
Maya Urata,
Esha Velaga,
Eileen Wang and
Sarah Wang. On the men's side, Parashar Bharadwaj, Shaurya Bharadwaj, Sanjeev Chundu, Luka Butera, Justin Chung, Stephan Gershfeld, Manfredi Graziani, Matthew Rutter, and Aaron Sandler earned the prestigious honor.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale) among the student-athletes who are listed on the institutional eligibility form. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to be named ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on his/her school's institutional eligibility form.
