NAPLES, Fla. – In a sign of how strong the Ivy League is in women's golf, consider the numbers put up this weekend by the University of Pennsylvania women's golf team and where it left them when the Ivy League Championship concluded Sunday on the par-72 course at Royal Palm Golf Club.
The Quakers' previous standard for 54-hole team score at the Championship was 906, set two years ago when they won their second team title. Penn shot 892 this weekend—including a program-record 292 on Friday and then a 296 on Saturday, matching what had been the previous single-round mark—and it left the Quakers tied for fifth in the six-team field with Yale.

Consider also the league's parity: While Princeton ran away with the title, finishing the three-day event at an incredible 4-over-par 868, the separation from second-place Harvard (884) to Penn and Yale was a mere eight strokes. Dartmouth and Columbia tied for third place, both shooting 889.
Junior
Julie Shin, who went under par both Friday and Saturday, finished the weekend at 2-over-par 218. That shattered the previous low 54-hole score for a Penn golfer at the Championship, bettering the 223 (+7) that Rina Jung shot in 2019. Shin also was the first player in program with two under-par rounds at the same Championship. The performance left her tied for fifth place in the 36-player field. Of note, the junior was third in the field in par-4 scoring for the weekend (4.00) and earned a spot on the All-Championship Team.
Sophomore
Maggie Ni shot an 8-over-par 224 on the weekend, tied for the third-best score by a Penn player at the Championship, while senior
Natalie Cao carded a 10-over-par 226 which is tied for sixth in program history. They finished 14th and tied for 16th in the field. Junior
Bridget O'Keefe posted the lowest score by a Penn player on Sunday, a 74 (+2), and ended the weekend at 229 which left her 22nd. Sophomore
Madeleine Zang (231, +15) and freshman
Claire Lu (240, +24) rounded out the Red and Blue lineup, with Zang tying for third in the field in par-5 scoring (4.75).
Harvard's Vanessa Zhang had her third straight under-par round on Sunday and ended the 54-hole event at 11-under-par 205 which broke the record for low individual score at the Championship. She was five strokes ahead of second-place Christine Chang from Columbia (210, -6).
