PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's lightweight crews raced with Princeton and Georgetown Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River. The Tigers will bring the Wood-Hammond Trophy back to Old Nassau after nipping Penn in the Varsity Eights race by a mere four-tenths of a second in a photo finish. The Quakers swept Princeton in the day's other three races, including a 1.5-second victory in the Third Varsity Eights.

Varsity Eight (Wood-Hammond Trophy)
The fourth-ranked Tigers won the Wood-Hammond Trophy by the slimmest of margins, defeating second-ranked Penn by just four-tenths of a second. Ninth-ranked Georgetown, which was rowing in the race as a guest, was off the pace by about 15 seconds.
