PHILADELPHIA— The University of Pennsylvania softball team completed its Ivy League series against Dartmouth earlier this afternoon, the Big Green besting the Quakers in both games.
With the results, the Quakers drop to 2-29-1 overall and 0-15 in conference play.
Final: Dartmouth 17, Penn 2 (after 5 innings)
Dartmouth jumped out to an early lead offensively, putting their first run on the board in the first inning with a single up the middle by Justice Malone to score Alaana Panu. In the second inning, the Big Green began their offensive rout, adding seven runs on six hits in the inning. Gigi Ganje battled back in the third inning, hitting a triple into right field to score two runs for Penn. In their half of the inning, Dartmouth added their ninth run with a single from Panu to score Jenna Brown. After three innings, the Quakers trailed, 10-2.
The Big Green continued their rout in the fourth, Marilyn Beauvais hitting a solo home run to resume the scoring. Brown later sent a single to third base to score Scarlet Niles for run number twelve. Panu hit a bases-clearing double to center field, plating Brown and Leila Hennessy for the thirteenth and fourteenth runs. Faby Serna later tripled to bring home Panu, and Serna crossed the plate after a double down the left field line by Olivia Schramm. Beauvais brought home the seventeenth run with a single to right field that allowed Schramm to score.

Freshman Morgan Sullivan started strong for the Quakers in game two of the doubleheader, tossing two scoreless innings before the Big Green got rolling again offensively in the third inning. Faby Serna batted in the first run for Dartmouth, sending the ball to shortstop and reaching on a fielder's choice that allowed Jenna Brown to cross the plate. In the next at-bat, Justice Malone worked a walk with the bases loaded to bring in Lauren Ben-Ezra for run number two. Olivia Schramm promptly singled to left field, Serna and Alaana Panu coming home for the Big Green's third and fourth runs. Leila Hennessy later singled up the middle to score Malone, representing run number five. Brown singled to right field to score Marilyn Beauvais, and Panu rounded out the inning with a double to center field to bring home Brown and Hennessy. At the end of the third, Dartmouth led, 8-0. In the fourth inning, Schramm worked a walk with ball four being a wild pitch. With the ball behind the catcher, Malone seized the opportunity to seal the game, crossing the plate to bring in the ninth run for the Big Green.
