Baseball Home Opener Suspended After Eight (Darkness), Will Resume Saturday in Newark

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania baseball team's home opener Friday vs. Delaware at Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium was suspended in the top of the ninth inning due to darkness.
 
The contest will be resumed at Delaware's Bob Hannah Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Game 2 will be played shortly after the game goes final, around the scheduled start time of 2 p.m.
 
The Blue Hens had a 10-6 lead at the end of eight innings and will come up to bat to begin the ninth inning on Saturday.
