PHILADELPHIA— The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team moved back to the .500 mark on the season with a win 7-0 over Temple earlier this afternoon.
Playing their first match of the season on the Hamlin tennis courts, the Quakers handled the transition outdoors well with their final match ahead of conference play. In the doubles matches, the Red and Blue won handily as they swept all three matches by a sizable margin. In singles, Penn routed the Owls. Saige Roshkoff, slotted at the sixth spot on the ladder, never took the courts as a result of forfeiture. The first match to complete play was on court number four, as Gavriella Smith took the third point for the Quakers in her victory over Nina Andreoni. Lara Stojanovski completed her two-set victory soon after, clinching the match for the Red and Blue. Penn finished the match strong, earning hard-fought victories from Esha Velaga, Eileen Wang, and Maya Urata.
