Brown played in all 27 games this season and tied for the team lead with 26 starts, averaging 13.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game and adding 61 assists, 20 steals and 52 three-point baskets. He led the Quakers in scoring in six different games and was third on the team with 19 double figure scoring games including four with 20 or more. In Ivy play, the sophomore was tops among all Ancient Eight players in scoring (19.3 ppg) and free-throw percentage (.891), second in 3FG percentage (.430), and sixth in both 3FG per game (2.6) and assist/turnover ratio (2.28).
Of particular note, Brown made history on the final Ivy League weekend of the season when he scored 42 points in the Quakers' 92-87 win at Columbia. It was just the fourth 40-point game in program history and most by a Penn player since Hassan Duncombe dropped 44 on Navy on December 8, 1989.
Yale senior Bez Mbeng doubled up on the Ivy League's major awards, earning Player of the Year for the first time as well as his third Defensive Player of the Year honor, while Harvard freshman Robert Hinton was a unanimous selection as the Rookie of the Year. The Dartmouth coaching staff was voted by its peers as the Ivy League Staff of the Year.
Penn's season concluded with last Saturday's game at Princeton.
