PHILADELPHIA – The #12 University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team hits the road for the first time in 2025 this weekend, heading to #10 John Hopkins for a 4 p.m. battle on Saturday.

The Penn vs Johns Hopkins Series
*The Quakers and Blue Jays are meeting for the 18th time in program history. Penn holds the series lead 10-7, with the series starting back in 2001.
*In their last ten meetings, Penn commands the charge 8-2, outsourcing John Hopkins 107-90.
*In their previous two contests in 2023 and 2024, Penn triumphed by one goal. In 2023, the teams went to overtime, with
Anna Brandt scoring the golden goal to secure the 13-12 victory. In 2024, the Quakers never trailed in the battle, coming away with a close 11-10 win.

*Penn opened the 2025 season last weekend with a 15-11 win over Drexel. Senior
Keeley Block was an offensive force, leading the charge with six points, including five goals against the Dragons.
*Seven Quakers scored in the victory, with sophomore
Catherine Berkery scoring three goals, while seniors Brandt and
Erika Chung scored a pair. Freshman
Lela Greene netted her first collegiate goal against Drexel.
*In Sunday's win, the Quakers had two goalkeepers take shifts in the crease, with junior
Caitlin Noack stopping two of six shots faced and freshman
Orly Sedransk saving seven of ten shots attempted.
Scouting the Blue Jays
*The #10 John Hopkins brings a 1-2 record into Saturday's contest. This past Tuesday, the Blue Jays fell to city rival #16 Loyola, 11-7.
*Senior Ashley Matkin leads the team with ten goals and 12 points. Junior Ava Angello follows with 10 points, including eight goals.
*Goalkeeper Morgan Giradina saved 23 goals for the Blue Jays in three games. However, she is sporting an 11.19 goal-against-average with 34 shots given up.
