PHILADELPHIA – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its Division I National Academic Squad and Scholars of Distinction with the University of Pennsylvania field hockey program having 16 representatives on the academic squad and one as a scholar.

Ruby de Frees,
Naomi Esterowitz,
MaryGrace Farrell,
Megan Frank,
Sophie Freedman,
Courtney Kenah,
Amy Lanouette,
Sydney Mandato,
Emma Nahon,
Julia Ryan,
Bridget Skelly,
Riley Thomson and
Alexis Williams.
Freedman, Kenah and Skelly earned a spot on the list for the fourth-straight year.
The Division I National Academic Squad recognizes nearly 1100 undergraduate student-athletes from over 80 institutions who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester.
The Scholars of Distinction, an award that goes to exceptional undergraduates who maintained a 3.9 GPA or higher throughout the fall semester, saw Almeida land on the list for the second year in a row. As a sophomore this past season, she joined 282 other Division I student-athletes on the esteemed list.
