PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania fencing programs hit the road this weekend, heading to the Elite Invitational Nov. 8-9.

The Field
Harvard, Air Force, Northwestern, Wayne State, North Carolina, Cleveland State, Penn State, Denison, Notre Dame, Princeton, and Duke will join the Quakers and host Ohio State at the invitational.
Quaker Notemeal
*Penn opened the 2025-26 season at the Temple Open back on October 25-26, with 12 Quakers earning spots on the podium.
*For the women,
Grace Hu led the charge, earning gold in the epee table.
Kimberley Jang trailed Hu, earning silver in foil, while
Lila Paul placed sixth in saber, and
Katherine Andres grabbed eighth in saber.

Antonio Heathcock rallied the troops for the men's team, earning silver in foil, followed by
Nicholas Jin (epee),
Conrad Lo (foil),
Simon Lioznyansky (epee), and
Jaesun Yun (saber), all of whom landed bronze in their weapons.
Avery Townsend (sixth, epee),
Ben Serafin (eighth, epee), and
Alexander Wu (eighth, foil) rounded out the Quakers who earned podium spots on Broad Street.

Misha Gujja, Jang,
Boryana Mitova,
Lila Paul,
Cathleen Shi, and
Sophia Zheng made their collegiate debuts for the women, while Lioznyansky, Lo,
Alexander Moses, and Wu hit the piste for the first time for the men at the tournament.
*Penn returns a stacked lineup to the strips this season, including All-Ivy honorees Jin and
Joseph Wu, NCAA qualifiers
Leah Blum and
Victoria Kuznetsov, and NCAA All-Americans Heathcock and
Simon Kushkov.
*Sophomore Jin, senior Kushkov, and
Nicholas Wu will serve as captains for the men's team, while Blum,
Malak Hamza, and Hu will be the leaders for the women's team.
