Wrestling Topples Campbell on USS Yorktown CV-10, 36-6

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team opened dual action at the Throwdown on the Yorktown on Saturday afternoon, toppling Campbell 36-6 on the USS Yorktown CV-10.
 
Davis Motyka (125), Evan Mougalian (133), Nathan Taylor (141), Cross Wasilewski (149), Jackson Polo (157), Caden Bellis (174), Greyson Meak (184), and John Pardo (285) all won their bouts against Campbell to lead Penn to its first dual victory of the 2025-26 season.

*Freshmen Motyka, Taylor, Bellis, and Meak and junior Polo won the first duals of their collegiate careers.
 
*The victory over Campbell marks the second in program history, with the first win over the Camel coming from the 2017-18 campaign.
 
*Sophomore Pardo recorded the sole pin in the meet, getting a first period fall over Brycen Arthur.
 
*#5 Wasilewski is now 4-0 overall on the season with a 3-0 tournament record and 1-0 dual tally.
 
How It Happened
Penn controlled the battle from the start, with Motyka (forfeit), Mougalian (19-1 TF), Taylor (13-5 MD), Wasilewski (16-0 TF), and Polo (5-1 DEC) taking the first five matches to give the Quakers a 23-0 lead. Campbell struck back in the 165 bout with a decision to cut the score to 20 points, but freshmen Bellis (6-1 DEC) and Meak (16-3 MD) won back-to-back matches to push the lead to 30-3 with two bouts to go. The Camels won their final battle at 197, but it was too late for a comeback as the deficit was too deep, and sophomore Pardo recorded a pin to push the meet to its final tally of 36-6.
