Quaker Notemeal
*  Tonight was big night in the scoring department, as freshman Kylie Emanuel and sophomore Eden Veenema scored their first career goals.

*  Five Quakers had two or more shots on the night.

*  Similarly, eight Quakers put at least one shot on goal.

*   Avery Chapel, Mallory Lucas, and Lily White were all credited with assists on the day.

How it Happened
The Quakers came out hot to start this one and wasted no time making an impact. At the 12th minute, junior Avery Chapel found sophomore Lily White on a pass. White then made a move to find freshman Kylie Emanuel for the one-timer and the match's opening score. The goal is the freshman's first of her career.

The Quakers were not satisfied with this, however, and continued to generate pressure on both sides of the ball. Penn consistently turned defense into offense and outshot NJIT 9-3 in the opening portion.

NJIT would not go without a fight, though. At the 40th minute, sophomore midfielder Kirra Hyder received the ball near the middle of the box, put a move on the defender to the right and put a rocket on net to even the score.

The second half played very similarly to the first, but with the scoring flipped this time around. At the 51st minute, senior Briana Andreoli received a go-ball pass around midfield and sprinted down the field with the ball to create a one-on-one with senior Annabel Austen. Andreoli sent a blistering ball in the net to go up 2-1. The goal proved to be a very significant one for Andreoli, as the goal gives her the NJIT program record for points in a career with 49.

The Quakers would battle to rebound from the goal. With under two minutes to play, Mallory Lucas got the ball on the far edge of the field and sent a perfect crosser towards the box, where sophomore Eden Veenema was waiting to deliver the game-tying header. This goal would also represent Veenema's first career goal.

The Quakers more than bounced back in this match and will look to carry that momentum to Sunday when they go to Columbia in a road Ivy match.
