How it Happened
The Hawks jumped on the scoreboard first as Carly Hynd scored less than five minutes into the game.

Ava Smith added another goal a few minutes later as Saint Joseph's took a 2-0 lead.

Goalie Ruby de Frees did all she could to stop the Hawks aggressive offense, saving four out of six shots in the opening quarter.

Julia Ryan scored the first goal for the Quakers as they cut the lead to one heading into the second quarter.

The Quakers became the aggressors in the second quarter as the offense found multiple opportunities to score off of corners.

Philine Klas tied the game for Penn off of one of the four Quaker corners in the quarter, scoring her fifth goal of the season as the scoreboard read 2-2 at halftime.

Both teams quieted down offensively in the third quarter as both defenses stepped up.

The Quaker offense attempted three more corner shots in the third quarter, all unsuccessful.

With the game still tied entering the fourth quarter, the Quakers offense once again relied on their senior leadership to come out on top.

Ryan scored her second goal of the game and ninth of the season with under six minutes left.

The Quaker defense held on and completed a second half shutout of the Hawks as Penn won 3-2.
