PHILADELPHIA– The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team will host the 28th annual Cissie Leary Invitational this weekend at the Hamlin and Hecht Tennis Centers from Friday, Oct. 3 to Sunday, Oct. 5.
Penn will compete against Maryland, Princeton, Drexel, Temple, St. Joseph's, Cornell and William and Mary.

*Esha Velaga and
Lara Stojanovski were selected to the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. last week. Esha played in the main singles draw and Stojanovski competed in the pre-qualifying singles draw.
*The team participated in the U.D. Invite in Newark, Delaware last weekend. Two sets of duos won in their doubles matches (
Liza Tkachenko/
Joleen Saw and
Maya Urata/
Varsha Vedula). Three players won in their singles matches (Tkachenko, Saw, Vedula).
*This will be the 28th time Penn has hosted the tournament, which began in 1997 in honor of former Penn women's tennis Head Coach Cissie Leary. Leary had 16 winning seasons for the Quakers before passing away in November of 1996 after a long battle with scleroderma.
