PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team duo,
Esha Velaga and
Lara Stojanovski, will play as a wildcard entry in the doubles category of the WTA 125 Ennoble Care Philly Open on Monday at Hamlin Tennis Center. The pair will compete on the stadium court no earlier than 6:00 PM.
Velaga and Stojanovski will face the No. 2 see Miriam Skoch and Jesika Maleckova in the opening round of the doubles draw, giving them the opportunity to compete against professional opposition on their home court.
The Quaker pairing enter the tournament following a strong 2025-26 season together at the top of Penn's doubles lineup. The pair competed primarily at the No. 1 position, combining for a 4-5 record during the season and a 2-2 mark in Ivy League play. Following the end of the season, they were named an as All-American honorable mention for doubles.
Together, both players have gained valuable experience competing against some of the top doubles teams in the Ivy League and Northeast and look to take their chemistry to the professional stage.
The WTA 125 Ennoble Care Philly Open will run from August 23-29 at Hamlin Tennis Center.
