Stokes and Richardson Tabbed by Phil Steele as Midseason All-America

PHILADELPHIA – At the halfway point of the 2025 season, two members of the University of Pennsylvania football team earned Midseason All-America honors from Phil Steele, announced on Thursday afternoon.

Senior return specialist Julien Stokes earned first-team All-America as a punt returner and second team for all purpose, while senior wide receiver Jared Richardson picked up second-team All-America laurels.

Stokes is putting together a strong start to his senior season, leading the Ivy League in both kick returns (27.0 ypa) and punt returns (29.4 ypa), and also paces the Ancient Eight in all-purpose yards per game (168.0). In addition, Stokes is ranked first in FCS football in punt return yards per attempt, second in all-purpose yards per game, fifth in combined kick return yards (444), and 16th in kickoff return yards per attempt.

The special teams ace is currently slotted third in program history in career kick return yards at 1,143, 94 away from the record currently held by Chris Wynn '09 (1,236).

There's not much left to say about Richardson that hasn't already been said, but he continues to draw interest nationally as we hit the midway point of the year. The senior wideout leads the Ivy League in receptions (35), yards (471), and touchdowns (5) after another signature effort in last Friday's win over Marist. Richardson caught 15 passes for 190 yards—one shy of his career high—and two TDs against the Red Foxes. He was named both FCS National Offensive Player of the Week and Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week for the effort.

Richardson heads into the final six games of the season ranked fifth in program history with 20 touchdown grabs and sixth in receiving yards at 1,943. He's just 58 away from becoming the sixth Penn Quaker to reach the 2,000-yard milestone.

It's all Ivy play the rest of the way for the Quakers, heading to NYC on Saturday to take on Columbia at 1:30 p.m.
