PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League Football Association (IFA) announced its honorees for the organization's annual dinner in January 2027. As tradition, each Ancient Eight school is represented, and the University of Pennsylvania football team's honoree is Brandon Copeland W'13.
"While I am proud of the hard work that made this possible, I'd rather acknowledge and thank my family for the DNA, perspective, and belief that made mountains look like opportunities," said Copeland. "I also want to highlight that this recognition is a testament to the incredible teams both on and off the field who have enabled me to catch my wildest dreams across multiple ventures while giving back to younger versions of myself. And we are still just warming up! Go, Penn!"
Copeland, a 2013 graduate of the program, had a decorated career with the Quakers, as a three-time First Team All-Ivy honoree and three-time Ivy League champion during the 2009, 2010, and 2012 seasons. Starting at linebacker in 30 of 39 career games, Copeland finished his time wearing the Red and Blue with 160 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, a blocked kick, an interception, a touchdown, and a safety.
After his graduation from the Wharton School in 2013, Copeland went on to sign as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens to start his ten-year career in the NFL, also making stops with the Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Atlanta Falcons during his professional career.
