PHILADELPHIA– The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team competed in the round of 16 and the quarterfinals of the main singles draw at the ITA Northeast Regional on Sunday.
Esha Velaga and
Maya Urata won their second round matchups against Stony Brook's Elena Lobo Corral and Fordham's Nevena Kolarevic, advancing to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Urata was eliminated by Princeton's Alice Ferlito (6-3,6-0) in the quarterfinals.
Velaga defeated Penn State's Brianna Baldi in the quarterfinals (6-3,3-6,7-4) as she advanced to the semifinals.
