PHILADELPHIA – After over a month off from competition for the winter break, the University of Pennsylvania men's and women's swimming and diving programs return to the pool this weekend to face Yale and Dartmouth at the Bulldogs' Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.
Diving is set for 5 p.m. on Friday while swimming is scheduled to take place Saturday at noon. Both sessions will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Penn women come into the weekend with a 6-2 overall record, going 2-2 in Ivy competitions so far. In their last time out, the Quakers emerged victorious in Princeton's Big Al Invitational by coming back and knocking off the host Tigers on the final day at DeNunzio Pool.
The Penn men have struggled to begin the 2024-25 season, entering the weekend with a 1-4 record and are 0-4 in Ivy meets. The Quakers took second place at the Big Al, racking up 842 points.
Quaker Notemeal

Katya Eruslanova set two new school records in Old Nassau, doing so in both the 200 IM (1:59.52) and the 400 IM (4:11.93). She finished ninth and third, respectively, in the two events.
*The other school record that fell was in the 200-medley relay as the quartet of
Amy Qin,
Izzy Pytel,
Maggie Hu, and
Kayla Fu recorded a time of 1:39.10 to top the previous mark of 1:40.27 set back in 2019 by Hannah Kannan, Rachel Maizes, Monika Burzynska, and Wendy Yang.

Anna Moehn won a trio of races in the 500 freestyle (4:41.61), the 200 free (4:11.93), and the 1,650 free (16:04.71).
*Fu also took first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.54.
*Penn registered eight NCAA B-Cut marks during the meet for Moehn (500 free, 200 free, 1,650 free), Eruslanova (400 IM), Fu (100 fly),
Sydney Bergstrom (1,650 free),
Kate Levensten (200 back), and
Joy Jiang (200 fly).
*The Penn men were led by
Matt Fallon's three event wins in the 100 breaststroke (52.16), the 200 breast (1:51.56), and the 1,650 free (15:07.24). Diver
Cody Hopkins also claimed victory on the three-meter dive with a score of 313.55.
*Like the women, the men also recorded several NCAA B-Cut marks for Fallon (100 breast, 200 breast, 1,650 free),
Watson Nguyen (100 breast),
Peter Whittington (400 IM, 200 breast), and
James Curreri (1,650 free).
Scouting The Bulldogs
*The Yale men enter the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record, going 2-0 in Ivy meets. The Bulldogs last knocked off Southern Connecticut State, 230.5-49.5. The Elis have beaten both Brown (207-93) and Columbia (209-91) so far this year.
*In the win over SCSU, Yale's Noah Millard (50 backstroke, 100 free), Elliot Lee (150 fly, 400 IM) both posted multiple event victories.
*The Yale women are also unblemished at 4-0 overall to begin the year topping both the Bears (160-140) and Lions (178-122) as well.
*The Elis dominated Southern Connecticut State, 225-44, their last time out. Three swimmers—Caroline McCurdy (150 free, 50 free), Devyn Sargent (50 breast, 150 back), and Ele Donegan (150 fly, 50 fly)—took care of business in a pair of events.
Scouting The Big Green
*The Dartmouth men enter this weekend's meet with a 1-6 overall record and are still searching for its first victory of the conference slate. The team had lost six consecutive meets before topping Bates, 132-73, last weekend. The team has Ivy defeats to Harvard (222-75), Cornell (226.5-73.5), Harvard (222-75), and Brown (182-118).
*Tommy Erwin won both of his individual events (1000 free, 200 back) and set a Bates pool record in the former with a time of 9:30.75.
*The Big Green women's team has an overall record of 3-4 and is 1-3 in Ivy competition. The program has one victory over Cornell (159-141) from back on Nov. 15.
*In a 151-53 win over Bates last weekend, Dartmouth won every single event led by Samantha Li's victory in the 100 free with a pool-record time of 51.33. She also set a pool record in her leg of the 200 free relay, swimming a time of 23.69 in the leadoff.
