Fencing Completes First Day of Philadelphia Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania fencing programs completed the first day of the Philadelphia Invitational on Saturday at the Tse Center.
 
Penn had a solid outing in University City, with the #7 men capturing five wins and the #7 women landing three wins to end the first day.
 
The men picked up wins over UC San Diego (16-11), Duke (16-11), Sacred Heart (16-11), Notre Dame (14-13), and NYU (16-1) to move to 11-2 on the season.
 
The women topped UC San Diego (14-13), Scared Heart (21-6), and NYU (15-12) to shift 9-5 on the year.
