CEDAR FALLS, Iowa and Lancaster, Pa. – The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team completed the first day of its busy road weekend, wrapping up the F&M Open in Lancaster and topping Sacred Heart 41-3 at the Elite Duals in Northern Iowa.

At the F&M Open,
Spencer Barnhart led the charge for the Red and Blue, making it to the 133 quarterfinals before ending his day in the consolation bracket of eight.

*Sophomores Gallagher and Swisher swept the day, winning all three duals they battled in against Ohio, South Dakota State, and Sacred Heart.
How It Happened
The pace of the dual was determined by the first match, which Gallagher won by forfeit. Sophomore Mougalain won the second match of the dual, taking the 141 bout against SHU's Andrew Fallon by decision, 5-1. Junior Dunnigan dominated his match with Dakota Asuncion (23-6), followed by Swisher, shutting Felix Lettinin out 12-0.
Mannella won his first of the 2024-25 season off a tech fall over Nolan Hook (15-0), while senior Incontrera claimed another tech fall win for Penn (18-2) to extend the lead to 28-3.
Freshmen Taylor and Zimmerman were forceful in their matches, winning off a decision over Hunter Perez (16-9) and a major decision over Chris DeLena (11-0) to claim their first duals wearing the red and blue. Freshman Pardo wrapped the dual up with a first-period pin over Marc Berisha (1:51) to push the meet to its final tally of 41-3.
