PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team finished fifth out of 12 teams at the Princeton Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event concluded Sunday and took place on the Tigers' home course, Springdale Golf Club.
Penn shot 299 in Saturday's opening round and Sunday's final round, sandwiching them around a 302 second round in the six-play, four-score event. That left the Quakers at 48-over-par 900.

The host Tigers ran away with the team championship, shooting 11-over-par 863 as a team and defeating second-place Georgetown by 30 strokes. Among the other Ivy teams in the field, Yale was third (896, +44), Dartmouth was fourth (897, +45), Harvard was seventh (909, +57), and Columbia was ninth (915, +63).
Individually, senior
Natalie Cao was Penn's low scorer and tied for fifth in a field of 74 golfers. Cao shot 72-75 on Saturday and then carded an even-par 71 on Sunday to finish at 5-over-par 218 for the weekend. Junior
Julie Shin was 22nd overall and second among Penn players, shooting a 15-over-par 228 including an even-par 71 in Saturday's opening round, while
Bridget O'Keefe (230, +17) and freshman
Claire Lu (231, +18) were right behind her. Senior
Debby Chang had Penn's second-best score on Sunday, at 74, and finished at 20-over-par 233, followed by
Madeleine Zang (237, +24) and freshman
Lindsay Yao (240, +27) who was in the field playing as an individual.
Princeton's Yanjun Liu won medalist honors, carding an even-par 71 on Sunday and ending the weekend at 2-under-par 211. That had her one shot ahead of teammate Catherine Rao (69-73-70—212, -1).
