Women’s Soccer Hosts Columbia Saturday in Ivy League Opener

PHILADELPHIA- The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team is ready to open Ivy League play on Saturday afternoon, taking on Columbia at Rhodes Field.

Penn vs Columbia 
The Quakers and Lion series is currently tied 14-14 since their first matchup in 1991. The Lions have won six of the 10 previous contests with Penn not having won a game since 2018. The Red and Blue score an average of 1.22 goals per game against Columbia. 
 
Quaker Notemeals
 
*Penn is coming off their first win of the season dominating in a 4-0 victory against Temple. The Quakers were able to produce two goals in each half of play courtesy of Lily White, Magali Capdevila, Avery Chapel, and Abbey Cook.
 
*Mallory Lucas, Rachel Herman, Leigha Matter and Sarah Sullivan made their season debuts in the Temple matchup.
 
*Cook leads the team in goals from scoring drives against Towson and Temple. The sophomore is eighth in the Ivy-League for goals scored and average goals per game. 
 
*Mila Maltby forefronts assist on the team against Navy and Temple. The freshman also places eighth in the Ivy-League for assists and average assists per game. 
 
*Goalkeeper Annebel Austin ranks first in the Ivy-League for the most minutes played by a keeper. The junior also places fourth in the Ivy-League for an average of 4.22 saves in a game. 
 
*Claire Robke and Maya Leschly played the most minutes outside a goalkeeper in the Ivy League. Both Robke and Leschly clocked 796 on the pitch for The Quakers.
