 How It Happened
The Red Storm fired early on, Janelle Sylvestr peppering a long shot in the fourth minute that was saved by Austen.

After a crossbar hit by the Johnnies' Freya Meadows-Tuson, freshman Hope Van Tuyle took advantage of the close ball and scored in the 26th minute. St. John's scored again six minutes into the second half when Jailene DeJesus converted the penalty kick.

Five minutes later, the Quakers had their chance at a penalty shot after St. John's Athina Sofroniou drew a yellow card. However, Janae Stewart was wide with her shot and the Quakers remained scoreless.

Two minutes later, Maltby and Peroulas had back-to-back shots in the 58th minute. DeJesus returned the favor and shot a minute later, saved by Austen.

Adamsky got Penn on the board in the 62nd minute, in a lone drive to the goal off an assist from Peroulas. However, the Quakers were unable to find an equalizer as they continue to look for their first win of 2024.
