PHILADELPHIA – With the 2024 campaign kicking off this week, the Ivy League released the 2024 Ivy League men's soccer preseason poll on Tuesday afternoon, with the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team landing the top spot.
Penn earned the favored spot with 115 points and seven first-place votes after ending last season as the Ivy League regular season champions. The Quakers posted a 4-1-2 record in the Ivies, hosting the inaugural Ivy League men's soccer tournament.
The Red and Blue return All-Ivy honorees
Leo Burney,
Stas Korzeniowski, and
Ben Do, along with four other starters in
Phillip Falcon III,
Charlie Gaffney,
Aaron Messer, and
Oliver Pratt.
The top four spots of the poll and projected to make the 2024 Ivy League tournament along with the Red and Blue are rounded out by the reigning tournament champion Yale Bulldogs in second with 108 points and eight first-place votes, Harvard in the third with 83 points, and Cornell in fourth with 80 points and a first place vote.
Penn opens the fresh season on Sunday, Sept. 1, hosting in-state rival Pitt at 7 p.m. at Rhodes Field.
