Priore Announces 2024 Penn Football Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania football team announced its schedule for the 2024 season on Wednesday afternoon. Beginning with a matchup at Delaware to open the year, Penn will host five games—with three Ivy League opponents—at Franklin Field, one scheduled under the Friday night lights in late October.

"Coming off a great spring season, we couldn't be more excited to unveil our upcoming schedule," said George A. Munger Head Coach Ray Priore. "We have some talented opponents on our non-conference slate this year including a much-anticipated matchup against Delaware to begin our season.

"Playing Delaware under the lights, Colgate for the third straight year, and Bucknell early on will only prepare us more for what will certainly be another extremely competitive Ivy schedule."

The Quakers are playing the Blue Hens for the seventh time in program history—and first time since 2019—on Saturday, Sept. 21 under the lights in Newark. This will be the last season Delaware will be competing in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), moving to FBS and Conference USA in 2025.

A week later, Penn will open its home slate with another matchup against Colgate at Franklin Field. The third straight year the two teams are seeing each other, the Quakers won the last home-and-home against the Raiders, winning in 2022, 25-14, in Philadelphia and in 2023, 16-0, in Hamilton.

Ivy League play begins Saturday, October 5 in Hanover, N.H. when Penn plays Dartmouth at what will be the newly christened Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field. The last time the two teams met in the Granite State, the Quakers took down the Big Green, 23-17, in two overtimes to begin the year 3-0. Last season's meeting also came down to the wire with Dartmouth edging out the Red and Blue, 23-20, in overtime at Franklin Field.

Penn will then have a three-game homestand against Bucknell (October 12), Columbia (October 19), and Yale (October 25), looking for consecutive wins against all three opponents. The Quakers have a nine-game win streak against the Bison dating back to 2003, while picking up wins against both the Lions and Bulldogs—the two-time defending Ivy champions—each of the last two seasons. The matchup against Yale is set to be played under the lights on Friday, October 25.

A trip to Providence, R.I. is next for Penn on Nov. 2 against Brown, searching for a victory against the Bears for the first time since 2021.

The Quakers will attempt to defend the Trustees' Cup for a third straight year on Nov. 9 when Penn and Cornell contest the fifth-most played rivalry in Division I football. It will also mark the first-ever meeting between Priore and new Cornell head coach Dan Swanstrom, who served as Penn's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach the last two seasons.

Penn returns home for the final time on Nov. 16 against defending co-champion Harvard on Nov. 16. It will be a rematch of a thrilling, three-overtime contest in Cambridge last season.

And finally, a rivalry renews between Penn and Princeton on Nov. 23 in the 115th meeting between the two regional foes. The last time the Quakers were in Old Nassau, they took care of business in a thrilling, come-from-behind 20-19 victory, the program's first win on the road there since 2012.

Information on ticket sales—both season and single game—will be announced at a later date.
