LEXINGTON, Ky. – Freshman Ryan Matulonis of the University of Pennsylvania men's track and field program highlighted the final day of the NCAA East First Round as he punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday night.

Matulonis bumped
Penn's representatives in Oregon to three after he placed ninth in the 400 hurdles quarterfinal with a time of 49.97 to secure his spot in the outdoor championships.
High jumper
Kampton Kam opened the day strong, capturing a collegiate best and grabbing tied fourth in program history in the high jump at 2.14 meters (7 feet 0.25 inches) to close out his sophomore season with 20th place in the first NCAA East Preliminaries of his Quaker career.
Nayyir Newash-Campbell finished his freshman season with a 47.22 in the 400 to place 22nd in the quarterfinals.
The 4x400 relay of
Sean Golembiewski, Matulonis, Newash-Campbell,
Dimitri Nicholson, and
Andrew O'Donnell closed out the Quakers' time in Lexington, finishing the relay in 23rd place following a time of 3:08.61.
