STILLWATER, Okla. – Esha Velaga and Eileen Wang of the nationally recognized University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team concluded their time at the 2024 NCAA women's tennis championships on Tuesday night at Oklahoma State University.
The pair represented Penn well on the big stage, narrowly falling 7-5, 7-5 to Vanderbilt's Celia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee in the opening round of 32 in the doubles championship. Velaga and Wang pushed both sets to 5-5 to keep the match close the entire time.
The #62 doubles duo were the first to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the Quakers since the 2013 season and concluded the 2023-24 campaign with an 8-5 winning record.
