In the top of the first Brianna Brown reached on an error at third, Sammy Fenton moved Brown over with a sacrifice bunt as Delaney smith singled through the right side to score Brown. The next at-bat Dana Anderson sent one over the wall in left-center for her first homer of the year, scoring Blake Landow who pinch ran for Smith. At the end of the first inning, Penn led 3-0.

In the top of the second, Cornell loaded the bases with a single, walk and a hit by pitch. Kate Callaway flied out to center, which brought in Sydney Stapf via the sacrifice fly.

The Quakers added a run in the bottom of the third when Delaney Smith singled up the middle and Anderson walked, forcing the Big Red to make an early pitching change. Lesko then drew a walk to load the bases. Julia Mortimer singled through the right-side scoring Dakota Farmer who pinch ran for Smith. With one out, Madison Bauerle reached on a fielder's choice, knocking in another run and extending the lead 5-1.

An inning later, Fenton led off with a walk and advanced to second on a hit from Dakota Farmer. Jade Montgomery drilled one up the middle, which easily scored Fenton from second.

Cornell threatened in the top of the sixth, as the first two batters reached safely. Bean then struck out the next three she faced, shutting down the bats of the Big Red.

In the bottom of the frame, Lesko hit a towering shot that cleared the center field wall for her second homerun of the year, which added an insurance run to make the game 7-1.

The Big Red would not go down without a fight, as in the top of the seventh Emma Antich hit a two-run shot, which put Cornell within four. Bean then got a lineout and a fly out to end the game and ensure the 7-3 win.
