Women's Basketball Travels North To Cornell For Ivy Saturday Matchup

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team continues its three-game Ivy League road trip this weekend, making the trek up to Ithaca on Saturday for a matchup with Cornell.

• Saturday's game against Cornell marks the 89th time in program history, as the Quakers maintain a 67-21 lead in the all-time series.
 
• Penn is riding a 13-game winning streak against the Big Red, dating to the 2016-17 season.
 
• The Red and Blue have an edge in the series in Ithaca, 27-12.
 
• The longest stretch of wins in the series belongs to the Quakers, going 15 straight games from the first matchup in 1974 to 1986. The longest streak for the Big Red is three games from 2011-12.

Rookie Dominance Continues
• On Monday, for the seventh time this season, Gayle was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
 
• She is just the 13th player in Ivy League history to have secured at least seven Rookie weekly honors, and the fifth in program history. The last time a Penn player had at least seven was in 2018 when Eleah Parker earned eight.
 
• Gayle averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and two assists in a 1-1 Ivy weekend on the road. She shot .423 from the floor, .417 from three (5-for-12), and 6-for-8 at the line.
 
• She has started in all 23 games, averaging 14.9 points on .404 shooting. She has totaled 342 points, 78 rebounds, 69 assists, 36 steals, and three blocks.
