Last Time Out
*Penn opened its 2024 campaign last Saturday, battling hard to the final whistle in a 12-9 contest with Georgetown.

*Junior Tynan Walsh led Penn offensively in the season opener, scoring three of Penn's nine goals, while senior goalkeeper Emmet Carroll made 11 saves in net.

*The Red and Blue had six different goal scorers against the Hoyas, including Walsh's hat trick. Freshman Leo Hoffman scored two goals in his first collegiate game, while Luke DiNola, Robert Schain, James Shipley, and Ben Smith contributed a goal apiece in their season debuts.

*Hoffman, Pasha Hakimi, and Anthony McMullan made their collegiate debuts in the battle, while Connell Kumar and Mac Eldridge made their Penn debuts.

SERIES WITH UALBANY
*The Quakers hold both wins in the previous two times these teams have clashed in all-time.

*This is the first time in program history UAlbany will be making the trip to Philadelphia for a game with Penn, the previous two matchups taking place in the Empire State.

LAST TIME WE MET
*The Red and Blue edged out the Great Danes 14-11 in the regular season closer last April to win the second all-time contest in the series.

*Sam Handley netted six goals to lead the offense, while current seniors Cam Rubin and Schain added two apiece to the scoreboard.

*Senior Chris Arceri was a force in the middle of the field, winning 20 of his 29 faceoffs while also scooping up nine groundballs to help the offense.

*Keeper Carroll made ten saves on 21 shots faced, and Peter Blake caused two turnovers to highlight Penn's defensive efforts.

ABOUT THE GREAT DANES
*UAlbany is still looking for its first win of the year, falling 11-10 to Colgate last weekend.

*Silas Richmond leads the Great Danes' offense, recording four goals in the season opener. Regan Endres tallied nine ground balls in his season debut.

*On the other end of the field, goalkeeper Will Vitton has made 13 saves so far this season, while Jake Piseno and Cade Galko have both caused three turnovers.

QUAKER NOTEMEAL
*Penn was selected to finish fourth in the 2024 Ivy League Preseason Media Poll. The poll closely reflects the standings from last season, with the top four teams all making it to the Ivy League Tournament in 2023. Penn only trails three teams in Cornell, Yale, and Princeton in the poll, all predicted to land a spot in the postseason again this season.

*There are multiple fresh faces on the squad this season, with 13 freshmen and two transfers joining the team. Seven of the first-years on the squad were named in the top 50 of the Inside Lacrosse Power 100 Rankings, with attacker Hoffman leading the charge at #5. Both transfers in Kumar and Eldridge came to the City of Brotherly Love from the University of Virginia.

*Penn returns veteran powerhouses Edward Arnold, Blake, Gabe Furey, Matt Palazzi, Schain, and Shipley for one final ride in the Red and Blue.

*Senior defender Brendan Lavelle was named an Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American heading into the season.

*Goalkeeper Carroll was named to the 2024 Tewaaraton Award Watch List earlier this week. The award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States.

*Junior Smith looks to make an immediate impact on the Quaker offense, as he was second on the team in points (34) and goals (27) last season.
