LYNCHBURG, Va. – The University of Pennsylvania track and field programs competed at a pair of two-day events this weekend, with most of the team taking their talents to the Darius Dixon Memorial at Liberty while a handful of women sprinters went further south to the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson.

Between the two meets, five more program records fell while the Singapore national mark in the high jump was reset again.

A successful trip for five women's sprinters to Clemson resulted in two program records.

Sophomore
Moforehan Abinusawa rewrote the 60m hurdles record during the semifinals of the event on Friday evening. She clocked a ninth-place time of 7.28.

On Saturday, the 4x400m relay team of
Christiana Nwachuku,
Jocelyn Niemiec,
Isabella Whittaker, and
Aliya Garozzo put together a third-place performance of 3:29.86, setting the new bar in program history as well as in Ivy League history.

The other three program records were hit on Saturday at Liberty.

Ryan Matulonis kicked off the day in the 500m, setting the program and meet record with a winning time of 1:01.90.

He was followed on the track by
Shane Gardner in the 60m hurdles final, who grabbed second place with a time of 7.85, rewriting the program record that he set last season.

On the infield,
James Rhoads and
Scott Toney battled out for the top spot in the pole vault. Rhoads secured the win with a clearance of 5.58m (18-3.5) to move the bar up in program history.

Kampton Kam wrapped up the successful weekend in the high jump, taking the win with a height of 2.20m (7-2.5) to reset the Singapore national indoor record while tying the meet record.

The Quakers are back in action in two weeks, making the trip up to Harvard for the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships. The two-day event starts up on Saturday, February 24.
