PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards in men's basketball, and the University of Pennsylvania's junior transfer,
Ethan Roberts, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
This is the first Ivy weekly honor of the season for Roberts, who was the Patriot League Rookie of the Year as a freshman at Army following the 2022-23 season.
Roberts earned all-tournament at the Cathedral Classic Invitational over the weekend, as he led all players in scoring in all three of the Quakers' games, totaling 76 points. The junior opened the weekend with 33 points, a collegiate high, in Friday's loss to Navy. He then recorded his second double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds in the Quakers' win over Maine on Saturday, adding four assists and three steals. Roberts ended the weekend with 20 points and six boards in a loss to Elon on Sunday afternoon.
Penn will be back in action on Saturday, facing 33rd Street neighbor Drexel in the first of three games as part of the second annual
Big 5 Classic at the Wells Fargo Center. Tipoff with the Dragons is scheduled for 2 p.m.
