Carroll was a dynamic force for the Quakers last season in the cage, stopping a career-high 255 shots and ending with an 11.08 goals-against average and a .589 save percentage. That earned him second-team All-America honors from the USILA as well as Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine. The goalkeeper also led the Ivies in saves per game, averaging 15.56 stops to grab first-team All-Ivy for the first time in his career. Carroll also made a massive impact in the crease during the 2024 Ivy League Tournament, posting back-to-back season-high outings with 19 saves against Cornell (solidifying Penn's spot in the final) then 20 in the championship game against Princeton.
Lavelle was a consensus first-team All-America on defense last year, after he posted career highs in caused turnovers (18) and ground balls (49) and led Penn in both categories. The defenseman's highlight outings were in Durham, N.C., and the Ivy League Tournament semifinal. He was dominant in the Red and Blue's victory against #1 Duke, totaling six ground balls and two caused turnovers while holding the reigning Tewaaraton Award winner, Brennan O'Neill, to just one goal on eight shots in the Blue Devils' first loss of the season. In the postseason battle with top-seeded Cornell, Lavelle held All-America CJ Kirst to just one point and six shots, with the sole assist being a season low for the attacker.
Penn is scheduled to open the 2025 campaign on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Georgetown.
