#19 Men’s Soccer Travels to Yale on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – The nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team takes a trip to New England this weekend, heading to Yale on Saturday for a 5 p.m. Ivy League bout.

Penn vs. Yale Series 
*The Quakers have a slight edge to the series, accumulating a 52-40-14 record. 
 
*During last season's contest in University City, Penn and Yale tied 1-1. Brandon Curran scored the only goal for The Red and Blue. 
 
*During the last ten meetings, the Quakers have won five games and tied the other five. 
 
Quaker Notemeal 
*The Quakers stayed undefeated in Ivy League play last Saturday, topping Dartmouth 3-2 on Senior Day to clinch a spot in the 2024 Ivy League Tournament. 
 
*Penn moved up to #19 in this week's NCAA DI men's soccer rankings.
 
*Seniors Leo Burney, Curran, and Stas Korzeniowski accounted for the goals against the Big Green.
 
*The victory over Dartmouth marked James C. Gentle Head Coach Brian Gill's 50th win as a head coach. He is the fifth coach in program history to hit the milestone.
 
*Midfielder Curran has tallied match-winning goals in back-to-back contests, scoring the victory-winning goals against Cornell and Dartmouth. 
 
*Forward Korzeniowski places second in the conference for shots (54), shots on goal (28), goals (11) and points (24). The senior is first for game-winning goals (4). 
 
*Junior Patrick Cayelli forefronts the Ivy League in assists (9) and sits in the top ten for points (13). 
 
*Goalkeeper Phillip Falcon III tops the conference in goals against average (11) and saves (36). The sophomore also lands second for shutouts (7). 
 
Scouting the Bulldogs
*Yale sits sixth in the Ivy League standings with a 1-4 conference record.
 
*The Bulldogs have not won a game since October 2, bringing a five-match skid into Saturday's battle.
*Joseph Farouz leads the offense in goals (6) and points (14).
 
*The Quakers will likely face Chris Edwards in the crease in New Haven. The goalkeeper has allowed 22 goals and has recorded 49 saves so far this season.
