ILT Spot Still In Play as Field Hockey Faces Brown Saturday in Providence

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania field hockey team will travel to Providence, R.I. to play Brown its final regular season game of the 2024 season.
 
Ivy League Tournament hopes are still alive with the Quakers needing to win on Saturday and a few other scenarios playing out. You can find all the scenarios below.

Penn's Ivy League Tournament Clinching Scenarios
Scenario 1 (Four Seed)
Win over Brown, Cornell win over Harvard, Princeton win over Yale, and Columbia win over Dartmouth.
 
Scenario 2 (Four Seed)
Win over Brown by five goals or less, Princeton win over Yale, Harvard win over Cornell and Columbia win over Dartmouth.
 
Scenario 3 (Three Seed)
Win over Brown by six goals or more, Princeton win over Yale, Harvard win over Cornell and Columbia win over Dartmouth.
 
Penn vs. Brown Series
The Red and Blue lead the all-time matchup against the Bears, going 34-8-3 since 1977. In the meeting last season at Ellen Vagelos Field, Allison Kuzyk scored two second-half goals to lift Penn past Brown, 2-1.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*Penn is one win away from 400 wins in its program's history.
 
*Julia Ryan ranks fourth in the Ivy League with 18 points on the season. She is the first Quaker since Alexa Hoover in 2017 with six-plus goals and six-plus assists in a single season.
 
*Livia Loozen has scored a goal in each of the last five games.
 
*Courtney Kenah recorded her first point of the season against Harvard.
 
*The Red and Blue's streak of outshooting their opponent ended at eight straight games. It was the longest stretch of Colleen Fink's tenure.
 
Scouting the Bears
Brown enters Saturday's contest 8-7 on the season with a 3-3 record in conference play. The three Ivy wins are the most by the Bears since the 2016 season.
 
The Bears have a potent offense that ranks top 25 in the country with 40 goals. They have three goal scorers who are top five in the Ivy in Mia Karine Myklebust, Lexi Pellegrino, and Katie McCallum. Setting them up is junior Lucy Adams, who leads the conference in assists.
 
In the cage, goalkeeper Kylee Del Monte has two shutouts and a 1.97 goals-against-average.
