PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's Lois S. Leitner Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse,
Karin Corbett, has announced her program's captains for the 2025 season. Seniors
Keeley Block,
Anna Brandt,
Natasha Gorriaran,
Grace Lillis and
Gracie Smith will lead the Quakers into the upcoming season.
"We are excited to announce our captains for the upcoming campaign," said Corbett, the program's all-time winningest coach. "Anna, Keeley, Gracie, Natasha and Grace have been doing a fantastic job of welcoming the 10 new freshmen into our team culture. They are setting the standard every day of what it means to play in this program. Each of their personalities and strengths, combined together, have made for a productive fall and we are excited to work with them as they lead us into the 2025 season."
Keeley Block started all 20 games last season, finishing third on the team in assists (15) and fourth in both goals (30) and points (45). She finished the season with 13 multi-point and nine multi-goal games. Block received honorable mention All-Ivy recognition as a freshman, when she finished second on the team in scoring, but missed her sophomore season to injury.
Anna Brandt was the Ivy League Midfielder of the Year as a sophomore in 2023 and followed that up with third-team All-America honors from the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse last season. A two-time unanimous selection as first-team All-Ivy, Brandt enters this season with 138 career goals and needs just 11 to become the program's all-time goal scoring leader.
Natasha Gorriaran started all 20 games last season as part of Penn's vaunted defense, ending the campaign with 24 caused turnovers which was third on the team. She also recorded 29 ground balls and four points, scoring goals in wins at then-No. 1 Maryland and in the NCAA Championship first round vs. Richmond. Gorriaran received honorable mention All-Ivy recognition in 2023.
Grace Lillis missed her freshman season due to injury and has seen time in six games since getting back to form, three each of the last two seasons. She saw action in a pair of Ivy League wins last year, against Columbia and Harvard, and had a ground ball in Penn's win at William & Mary.
Gracie Smith played in all 20 games for the Quakers last season, making four starts. She scored 11 goals and dished off an assist for 12 points—scoring twice in Penn's win at the top-ranked Terps—and added nine caused turnovers and 13 ground balls.
Penn went 15-5 last year, advancing to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship after making the Ivy League Tournament final.
