PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's fencing team opened the 2024-25 season with a bang on Sunday, winning foil at the Temple Open.
 
For the fourth straight year, senior Bryce Louie won the top spot in foil at the tournament for Penn. The Quakers were also highlighted by sophomores Joseph Wu and Nicholas Wu, who captured bronze in epee and foil. Ben Kogan shined for the freshmen class, taking tied ninth in sabre in his first outing with the Red and Blue.
 
The Red and Blue had freshmen make their collegiate debuts at Temple, as Jonathan Cheng, Nicholas Jin, Kogan, Donghyeok Kim, Noah Nager, and Jaesun Yun his strips for the first time.
