How it Happened
Harvard wasted no time coming into the contest as Audrey Francois fired a shot just 44 seconds in. Sydney Farnham followed in the 11th minute with an off-target attempt. The third time was not the charm for the Crimson as Anna Rayhill shot was blocked in the 26th minute.
Megan Lusher was the spark plug off the bench for the Quakers, getting off three shots in the first half.
Penn might have had the better of the action in the second half. However, in the 83rd minute a Harvard player received a throw-in in the Penn box and tried to turn to get a shot off. A Penn defender stuck a foot in and appeared to get the ball. However, the Crimson player went down and the official immediately signaled for a PK. Aslaug Gunnlaugsdottir took the shot and scored to the right side as Austen went left, giving the Crimson the lead. They were able to salt the win away from there.
