New Haven, Conn. – Day one of the Ivy League Invitational finished with the University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team playing six matches across the singles and doubles sides.

Competition started on the doubles side where the partners of
Shaurya Bharadwaj /
Justin Chung and
Luka Butera /
Sanjeev Chundu faced off against Ivy foes.
In their first doubles match together, Butera / Chundu defeated a side from Yale to advance to the quarterfinals.
Bharadwaj / Chung fought hard against Dartmouth but fell, 5-8.
Following doubles play was the Round of 32 singles side. Butera faced off against Cornell's Felipe Pinzon. After losing a tie break in the first set, Butera bounced back to force a third set. In the third set, he came up just short to lose the match.
Despite valiant efforts, Bharadwaj, Chung and Chundu couldn't advance in their matches.
All four Quakers will have a chance to leave the tournament with a victory as they will play in the singles consolation.
