Men’s Lacrosse Ranked in USA Lacrosse Preseason Top 20

PHILADELPHIA – February can't come soon enough. The University of Pennsylvania men's lacrosse team is heading into the 2024 season ranked in the USA Lacrosse Division I Men's Preseason Top 20.
 
Penn landed 17th in the preseason poll after ending the 2023 campaign with a 7-6 recording, going 4-2 in Ivy League play, picking up four ranked wins against #8 Georgetown, #17 Saint Joseph's, #18 Princeton, and #20 Yale. The Quakers were ranked as high as #7 throughout the year.
 
The Quakers return a stacked lineup, including 2023 All-Ivy honorees defender Brendan Lavelle, defender Peter Blake, and goalkeeper Emmet Carroll. Penn brings in 13 newcomers made up of seven of the top 50 freshmen named to Inside Lacrosse's Power 100 Rankings, as well as two transfers from the University of Virginia. 
 
The Red and Blue open the 2024 season on Friday, Feb. 17, when the Georgetown Hoyas head to University City for a noon matchup at Franklin Field.
