PHILADELPHIA – The
Penn-I-L Marketplace & Local Exchange is officially live, announced by the University of Pennsylvania Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics (DRIA) on Thursday morning.
Â
A one-stop-shop for name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities, the marketplace is the way for companies and local businesses to connect with Penn student-athletes.
Â
Part of Penn's
partnership with Teamworks Elite, INFCLR is another exciting way for Penn student-athletes to connect and communicate with approved businesses, collectives and individuals for fulfilling NIL transactions. INFLCR also allows student-athletes to be tagged in photos and videos for creating content on social media platforms.
Â
This will be a new place to not only disclose any deals but also curate a brand and access global partnerships through INFLCR's network. Through all these avenues, Penn is committed to the investment of NIL and making it a key priority of the student-athlete experience.
Â
Companies or brands that do not wish to do an NIL deal but still want to support Penn student-athletes can donate to the
Penn Champions Club (PCC).
Â
About the Penn-I-L Exchange
The Penn-I-L Exchange is a student-athlete NIL business registry, custom-designed for businesses, donors, alumni, and any other interested NIL dollars wishing to connect with student-athletes. Registered businesses can search, filter and initiate conversations with your student-athletes to discuss an NIL deal. Once the NIL deal between a registered business and your student-athlete is completed, the business will use the Penn-I-L to create a transaction that will produce a direct payment to the student-athlete and automate a disclosure to the INFLCR Verified Compliance Ledger. The institution does not have to get involved in the deal and all transactions within the local exchange are consolidated into one 1099 at the end of the year for easier tax reporting purposes for registered businesses and athletes.
