HANOVER, N.H. – The University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team was bested on the road in Hanover, falling 2-0 to Dartmouth on Saturday night.

Goalkeeper Nick Christoffersen saved six attempts on goal to highlight the team's defensive efforts. Junior Stas Korzeniowski attempted four shots on goal at the other end of the field. Penn falls to 2-3-3 (0-1-1 Ivy League) on the season while the Big Green improves to 4-3-1 (2-0-0 Ivy League).

*Christoffersen had a light first half of play, as the Big Green didn't attempt any shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of play.

*Junior Ben Do and senior Mateo Zazueta accounted for the other two Quaker shots on goal to go along with Korzeniowski's four.

*Christoffersen, Leo Burney, Do, Oliver Pratt, Mattias Hanchard, and Jacob Muchnick played the full 90 minutes.

How It Happened
Korzeniowski got a shot on goal early, in the eighth minute, but Dartmouth's Costi Christodoulou scooped up the ball before the junior could get another shot at the net.

The Quakers then attempted three quick shots on goal, in the 24th, 25th, and 26th minutes, with two of them coming from Charlie Gaffney. Ultimately, both of Gaffney's shots were blocked by the Big Green.

Do had a shot in the 41st minute that looked like it would hit the back of the net, but Dartmouth's netminder dove at the last second to steer the ball away and keep things scoreless at the half.

The Big Green got to work early in the second half, attempting their first shot on Christoffersen in the game during the 46th minute. Just two minutes later, Dartmouth found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.

A few minutes later, Dartmouth's Kristian Feed capitalized with a free kick goal from the top of the box to double the Big Green's lead in the 54th minute.

Senior Michael Hewes tried to get one back for the Red and Blue, taking back-to-back shots in the 56th and 57th minutes, but a Big Green defender knocked away both to keep the score at 2-0.

Both offenses were quiet for a while before the Big Green tried to get another one past Christoffersen in the 75th minute, but the senior goalkeeper held strong and snatched the ball out of the air before another shot could be attempted.

Korzeniowski had one final offensive attempt with less than five minutes on the clock, but Dartmouth's goalkeeper reached high to grab the ball and hold the score at its final tally of 2-0.
