Richardson's Career Day Earns Ivy Offensive Player of the Week Recognition

PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore wide receiver Jared Richardson earned his first Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honor when the office announced its slate of weekly awards on Monday afternoon.

Richardson was electric in his second career start on Saturday at Bucknell, catching 12 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns as the Quakers topped the Bison, 37-21, to improve to 2-0 to start the year. His 12 catches are tied for the most in a single FCS game this season so far.

His second TD grab of the afternoon went for 40 yards as Penn took a commanding 30-7 lead with 1:12 remaining in the second quarter.

Through the team's first two games, Richardson has a team-high 19 catches for 201 yards and three touchdowns.

In addition, junior quarterback Aidan Sayin and senior defensive lineman Joey Slackman earned honorable mentions.

The Red and Blue are back home this week for their first home game of the campaign, opening Ivy play with Dartmouth Saturday at 1 p.m.
